Two men without families trying to find their way together. Two characters described by reviewers as sassy and lovable. Neither is a bad start to my weekend and to round things off I have Ana Newfolk back on the blog and this time she’s chatting with those sassy, lovable guys. So if you’d like to know a bit more about Ana’s latest project, Made in Manhanttan, and the characters who live and love between the pages of her books… keep right on reading!
Thank you Jackie for having me in your blog today. As you know, I’ve been quite busy with my new release, Made In Manhattan. I’ve done a few blog appearances and facebook takeovers recently so today I’m going to sit back and let my characters talk.
I was lucky to catch Max and Isaac for a quick interview before they fly to Europe for Sofia’s Christening in a few weeks.
Ana: Hey guys, how’s it going?
Isaac: We’re great, thanks. How’s your writing?
Ana: Good try, Isaac, but today is about you. How’s married life treating you?
Isaac: It’s awesome. I still pinch myself every morning that I wake up to Max.
Max: Aw, babe. I never thought I could be this happy. My family is complete now.
Ana: That’s fantastic. You guys went through so much you deserve all the happiness. How is Max, the cat, settling in?
Max: He’s great, I mean, he totally runs the place. He has Lucy all wrapped around his little sand-colored paw.
Ana: You were considering getting a dog to keep Max company. Did that ever happen?
Isaac: Oh yeah, we have a rescue Shiba Inu called Dante. He had a rough start in life but Max was smitten when they met, and they’re inseparable now.
Max: I wasn’t that bad!
Isaac: Baby, I meant the cat but I can’t say I didn’t wonder where I came in the pecking order for your affection.
Max: Always first, don’t ever doubt it.
Ana: You guys are too cute. Isaac, I know how it’s like moving away from home. Are you settled in Manhattan now? You must still miss your family.
Isaac: Definitely, I talk to my brother all the time but I miss not being able to drop by for dinner. I especially miss Sofia and knowing she’s growing up so fast and I’m not there, but I wouldn’t change moving to Manhattan for the world. I love that I can work with both LGBTQ youth centers at the same time too.
Max: Isaac works too hard but I’m so proud of how he adjusted to life here. Not easy when there’s a teenager, a cat, a dog and a sexy husband all under the same roof.
Max: What. Stop shaking your head, you told me I was sexy this morning when⏤
Isaac: Ana, next question, please.
Ana: You must be excited to go back to Europe then.
Max: Oh yeah, the last time we were there it was, well, difficult. I’m looking forward to a relaxed time, seeing Joel and his family and also spending more time with Isaac’s family too.
Isaac: Oh yeah, and I also want to catch up with the Rainbow Foundation. Tiago is doing a brilliant job but I miss the kids. Want to see them all.
Ana: I hope you have a great time. I miss Portugal too so I know the feeling.
Isaac: Ana, can we ask you a question?
Ana: Of course.
Max: What are you working on at the moment?
Ana: You guys are cheeky, this wasn’t meant to be about me. Fine then, I’ve been keeping my eye on the Rainbow Foundation, and I think Tiago may need a helping hand.
Isaac: With what?
Ana: Seeing what’s right in front of him. And that’s all I’ll say for now. Guys, it was a pleasure talking to you again.

Will they get a second chance to rekindle their love?
Isaac was kicked out by his family at a young age.
It took him years of hard work to become his own man. Now he’s helping the LGBTQ youth of Lisbon so they don’t have to go through the same.
Max has a long and troubled past.
An ER nurse in New York City who volunteers at the local Liberty center, he knows first hand what it’s like to lose your family and having to make it on your own.
A chance encounter between the two a year ago has them hoping for a happy ever after, if not for the distance between them, but when Isaac takes a temporary work placement in Manhattan, the two men have an opportunity to find what their love is made of.
Will they make it, or will life’s tests tear them apart for good?
Made In Manhattan is the second instalment in the Made In series by Ana Newfolk. It is a standalone gay romance novel with a HEA ending and no cliffhanger. Fair warning, there will be naked man-parts touching, a touch of angst, and the claws of an overprotective cat.
Made in Manhattan is 62k words and features the same main characters from Made In New York – A Christmas Short Story.
You don’t have to read it, but you may want to find out how Max and Isaac first met.
About Ana Newfolk
Ana Newfolk was born in Portugal where she grew up surrounded by sunshine and countryside. She has always had a deep love of reading, and ever since she can remember her favorite presents and treats have always been books. She would often be found in her not-so-secret spot reading her favorite adventure books (when she was younger) and romance novels (when she discovered boys). At 20 years old she moved to the UK where she has lived since.
In 2015 Ana stumbled across her first MM romance novel by chance, and she was hooked. She loves reading about men falling in love, hard, fast and ever so sweetly. This new found love for LGBTQ+ romance has opened a new world for Ana, and in 2017 she decided to finally listen to the voices in her head and write them down.
In addition to the time she spends reading and writing Ana has a full-time job that involves meeting lots of people with interesting stories to tell. She also loves baking as much as she loves watching people eat what she creates, much to the delight of family, friends and work colleagues alike.
