So… I’ve been busy making plans for NaNoWriMo, since life doesn’t stop just because I want to write. I’ve not done a full NaNoWriMo in a while, but after signing a contract for Job Hunt and shortly going to be seeing two of my short stories in an anthology, I’m now properly motivated to make a go of it.
As if I wasn’t before, ha!
Despite the best laid plans… I still have a business to run during the week, and I think my husband and Tiger the cat deserve some of my time and attention even during November, so to make sure that everything fits, nobody gets neglected and the bills still get paid, I need a plan.
And here it is, my list of things to do to survive November.
1. write as much of House Hunt as the Muse will let me. Don’t fix, don’t edit – just write. (For me, that’s nowhere near as easy as it sounds!) Ideal outcome: one complete, novel-length draft.
2. write at least 20 new pages of content for the England site. Recently, I’ve been struggling with my focus. The site’s my baby, seven years old in December and it deserves some serious TLC. I’m really hoping that the #nanowrimo rush will fan the flames…
3. Write a short story for the Christmas Fiction Exchange that I’ve so rashly signed up for. Provided the Muse comes up with an idea before the month is up, this should be pure fun! Ideal outcome: One short story ready for beta.
4. Sleep, talk to real people as opposed to fictional characters at least some of the time….and don’t OD on red wine!
I’ll be reporting back periodically. Promise.
