Good afternoon, snippeteers – and a very Happy New Year to you all! It’s grey and grumpy here, so I’m hibernating on the sofa, dreaming of summer holidays, and dividing my time between knitting and… predictably… writing.
The year started well on that front. I have actually two finished books in edits at once… and that’s never happened before. And Undercover Star, the story of art detective Josh Ingram and music star Matisse Vervein, has acquired a sequel, Starstruck. As usual, I’m stuck on the sex scenes and the arguments – I just hate writing arguments! – so I’ll be snipping from Starstruck for the next few weeks of rainbow snippets to help me through the mire and Josh and Matisse to their HEA. And I’ll start with Josh getting handed his next case while Matisse is away on a concert tour.
“Here’s a new job for you.” Montgomery handed a bulging manila folder across the desk. “Reports of art thefts from across southern England. Last six months, all in broad daylight, and the thief’s not fussed about being seen.”
“And? That sounds as if he should have been warming the bench in some courtroom months ago.”
“You’d think so, wouldn’t you? Only problem is that we’ve not found him yet.” He nodded to the folder. “Read your way through that lot and you’ll know why.”
