Afternoon snippetteers! A busy week is drawing to a close and very constructive it’s been. I’ve set myself a bit of a blogging challenge to combat the work raining down on me this time of year – why does adding more work make the real work go faster? – and so far I’m doing peachy. I’ve also picked up a brand new plot bunny and sent it into the pen with its brethren and sisters. If it settles in and grows, it might one day end up here. 😉 For the moment, I’m finishing the edits to Crossfire, which is due out on February 15th, and write bits here and there on Starstruck, where I’m staying for this week’s Rainbow Snippets.
In the last snip, Josh was handed a new case and here, Josh and Matisse are on the phone, talking about it.
In the silence that followed his question, Matisse imagined Josh staring at the phone in his hand as if it might bite or maybe he chewed on his lower lip while he worked out how to answer.
“Tim’s handed me a new case and it’s baffling.”
That was interesting. Josh could pull unrelated facts into meaningful shapes as easily as Matisse wrote music. “Is it an art thief?”
“Yes. He robs places in broad daylight, and doesn’t seem to be fussed if anyone sees him. Strangest thing, though? None of the eye witness accounts match.”
