Loooong time, no see – real life got in the way of a lot of things recently, and we spent a lot of time travelling up and down to London and coming home so knackered that a pizza and a glass of wine were all we were fit for. It’s not over yet, and won’t be for a while, but the urgent bits are done. So I’m hoping to get back to regular Saturday evenings writing and reading with music and a glass of something red. And since Leap of Faith, my friends-to-lovers-with-explosions novella came out on Wednesday, that’s what I’m hoping to entertain you with today.
I’m not convinced I really like release days. I love the writing, the signing of contracts, the editing and polishing. I even love the buildup to the release day… but the day itself is… emotional? draining? nervewracking? overwhelming? Not sure. Maybe it gets a little easier with every book.
Not like it is for Kiean in this week’s snip. He’s worried about an injured Joel, and every time he turns around things get worse… (a fraction longer than 6 sentences, sorry)
From Leap of Faith
Joel pursed his lips. “How doped up am I? I don’t remember a yacht.” The deep-blue eyes widened. “Did he shoot me after he threw that woman off the roof?”
“You didn’t get shot,” Kieran reminded him. “Is that the last thing you remember? The man on the roof?”
Joel gathered himself to answer when the door swung open and Dale rushed in. “Something’s wrong,” he said urgently. “Bossy Nurse at the front desk just stopped two men looking for you.”
