It’s Friday 13th, Halloween is coming up fast and I have a second guest on the blog today! Dale Cameron Lowry has brought us his brand new anthology titled Myths, Moons, and Mayhem – rather fitting for the time of year! There’s even a very special offer to whet all our appetites. So, Happy Release Day and Go Dale! 🙂
Thanks, Jackie, for inviting me to your blog to talk about my new release, an anthology I edited for Sexy Little Pages called Myths, Moons, and Mayhem. It’s a collection of nine paranormal stories featuring gay ménages (MMM)—but while they all have that very specific theme tying them together, the stories are incredibly varied, each one as unique as the author that wrote it.
I was fortunate to have some really talented writers contribute to this collection, including some of my old favorites like Clare London and Rob Rosen, and new-to-me favorites like Rebecca Buchanan and Carl Redlum. They gave me vampires, ghosts, werewolves, aliens, fairies, and even a Sasquatch!
Some of the stories had me laughing out loud. Others had me sitting at the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen next. All of them were incredibly sexy, exploring the way desire can bring people together on a deeper level and help individuals find purpose and fulfillment.
My own story in the collection, “The Cave,” takes place in a world that’s exactly like ours, except that everyone has a little bit of magic. It’s told from the point of view of Ethan, a U.S. photojournalist visiting Madagascar for the third time on a magazine assignment. Although he’s familiar with the country, he’s a perpetual outsider. (I wrote this part based on my own experiences in Madagascar. It’s a wonderful country, but if you are not from there, you have to get used to people greeting you with a cheerful, “Hello, foreigner!” It’s just what they do.)
But when Ethan discovers that two of the scientists on the expedition he’s documenting are a gay couple, he develops crushes on both of them and starts to feel less lonely. There are language barriers (one of the couple is French, the other Malagasy), but through their magic, the three men are able to forge a deep connection that surpasses cultural differences.
Myths, Moons, and Mayhem has been a true labor of love, and I want to share that love with readers. To celebrate this new release, I’m offering a special gift when you order Myths, Moons, and Mayhem by the end of the day on Friday, Oct. 13: seven of my paranormal and speculative stories collected into an ebook I’m calling Chance & Possibility: Seven Fantastical Tales of Gay Desire.
Thanks so much for your support!
