My never-ending project is finally ready for release – and damn does it feel good. It’s cover reveal day for Healing Glass! And what a lovely cover it is that Miranda from Pavelle Art has created for my story.
The near-invisible stairs up into the floating city weren’t something I planned in. Like the whole city, they appeared out of thin air as I was writing, and I love it when that happens. Some details take a lot of research and working out, others are just there when I need them. And Falcon sitting on the beach looking up at the city, before standing before the stairs scared white were some of the first scenes I ever wrote – right after Minel deciding to die.
Healing Glass has come a long way since. Some stories don’t change much from the first idea to the moment I type The End under them. They’re right there in my head and they just need telling. Other stories grow and evolve, and Healing Glass is one of these. From a simple friends-to-lovers story, Healing Glass grew into into a bit of an exploration.
What it means to be special.
Whether special powers bring special responsibilities.
How even a refusal to fight can inspire others, or how looking away can do more damage than intended.
Healing Glass is a story about all of these things. And about personal loyalty, courage, trust and abiding love. Because I couldn’t tell Minel and Falcon’s story without touching on the strength of the connection they forge between them.
For me, Miranda’s cover shows all these things. Falcon’s fear of using stairs he can’t see to climb up to the city. Minel being forced to watch, helplessly, as everything he loves is unravelling before his eyes. And the fact the Minel and Falcon, glass master and warrior, are a meeting of glass and steel, a force to be reckoned with and stronger and more resilient together than either one would be alone.
I hope you enjoy meeting Minel and Falcon, Dorian, Kare, Salia, Javier and Rien, and I hope you have as much fun exploring their world as I had creating it.

Healing Glass is available for pre-order from most retailers and will be released on May 13th. You can order your copy here:
