Welcome to February’s monthly plot twist. How are you all? I hope you’ve survived the crazy that was January with your sanity intact. The month seemed never ending. We’ve had a lot more going on than I’d bargained for. Getting our home ready for sale came with a lot of moving parts and stacks of lists that got longer and longer.
Decluttering and cleaning became an Olympic sport, and every job ticked off the list seemed to spawn another three. The storms we’ve had didn’t help either, eating into the time allotted for clearing out the shed and tidying the garden – where the weeds already have a head start!
There wasn’t much time for thinking about Gareth and rage, or Max and guilt and redemption. There wasn’t time to write lyrics for Ryuu’s songs or recipes for Paston’s coffee bar. But I still made a bit of progress on all of them – and posted teasers and prologues for both stories in my Readers Nook / Patreon.
Lovely Surprises
January also had a few lovely surprises, like spotting the first snowdrops while out on a walk. Or finding out that primroses are scented! I’ve only ever had them in the garden, but when I planted up a few in bowls I realised they had a lovely fragrance. I’m determined to remember that for next year.
Another lovely surprise: Job Hunt and Rylan as well as the series they’re part of, were nominated in the Paranormal Romance Guild’s 2024 Reviewers Choice Awards! To say I’m delighted is an understatement, especially as both of mine sit side by side with books I’ve thoroughly enjoyed reading myself.

New Release
As I’ve mentioned in January’s monthly plot twist, I’ll be writing and publishing books at a slower pace this year. But… I managed to put my first White Knight Security Omnibus Edition together for release this month! Get the first five White Knight stories in one handy volume.

Backlist Spotlight: Undercover Star
I “blame” this book – an m/m action adventure, opposites attract romance with music and art theft – to my husband. He came home from work one night and asked, with a perfectly straight face, “How do you feel about buying a Scottish island?”
And that, as they say, was that. As we read over the sales brochure for a small island just off the Dumfries and Galloway coast, and wondered about the logistics of transporting anything from DIY materials to loo roll… this plot bunny arrived.
