The Monthly Plot Twist: March

Welcome to March’s monthly plot twist. How are you all? I’m glad February is done with. It’s my least favourite month and it’s usually the one where I struggle mentally and physically. It’s the month where I’m most likely to stress about my weight, start a diet, decide to lift weights, and cook and bake up a storm, all in a bid to make myself feel better.

This year, we’re selling our house, and that process is bringing a whole other level of stress, because neither one of waits very well. I keep telling myself that we have to let the agents do their work and that the house will sell when our perfect new home goes on the market in Northumberland. Some days, that even works! 😉

In between fretting I’m making an effort to go for walks in the sunshine – when we have sunshine, that is. I spotted the first daffodils on a recent walk, and had words with this gentle old giant who was faithfully guarding his family’s rubbish bins.

A Win or Three

Both Job Hunt and Rylan’s story did fabulously well in the Paranormal Romance Guild’s 2024 Reviewers Choice Awards, as did the series they belong to. We ended up winning three categories and placing third in another – and I can’t say how grateful I am to everyone who voted and showed their love. It helps so much when the going gets tough! <3

Backlist Spotlight: Caught

I was halfway through writing Cursed – and thoroughly stuck – when I realised that I’d started telling the story in the middle, and that it wouldn’t make sense unless I explained how Tenzen and Rakurai met, and why Rakurai subsequently vanished from his son’s life.

So I sat down to introduce my elder Yuvine hunter to a lonely, self-sacrificing death god who looks after a garden filled with butterflies, and learned a lot more about death gods and the history of the Yuvine in the process.

It’s a story of soulmates, sacrifices, and two men caught between duty and love.
